Une mite dans les collections
Bilingual conference (30"00) with overhead-projector, transparent slides and a textile piece.

Presented at l'ISELP in the framework of the symposium Symbioses! On the interactions between art and the living.

The notion of life is at the heart of the conservation of artworks. Works of art are preserved by observing and controlling the presence of living organisms such as fungi, insects, and bacteria. But the presence of life also operates metaphorically, through the relationships of care and protection surrounding works of art.

During the conference, we will explore the relationship between artworks and their environment by focusing our attention on the risks present in the storerooms. We think, for example, of the moth that discreetly circulates inside them. Art collections, isolated from the public, still contain life.

Documentation of the conference can be shared upon request.
