Sticky situations. Living on glue and other cheap materials
Bilingual conference (30"00) with overhead-projector, transparent slides and various samples of natural and synthetic materials.

Introduction to VAi’s research day entitled ‘Hors Catégorie’. Sticky situations explores how archival classifications shape – but also limit – the understanding of design heritage.

During the lecture-performance, we wander around the building, circulating between the acid-free cardboard boxes, listening to the buzzing sounds from the ventilation pipes, and observe the insect paper traps. Through anecdotes from daily life in archives we will investigate the role of coincidence in decision-making processes.
